The student handbook states
“The Board of Education believes that semester exams
are an integral part of the educational process and
that all students should take semester exams.” Beginning
the school year 2002/03 students will be required to
take two (2) semester exams 1 semester, no exceptions.
Those two subjects will be drawn from the four core
subjects about the first week of December. All students
will take two exams. No exemptions. The exemption policy
will be in force for the other subjects. (No more than
one absence or a 90 overall average.) We will still
have open campus.
Second semester no exams are required, so exemptions
will be based on absences or grades for the entire year
with theses changes: We have added one (1) more day
on absences for a total of three (3) for the school
year but only one (1) absence for the 1 semester. (Second
semester is longer) We are also using a 90 average for
the four nine weeks rather than 90 per nine week grading
period. Elective semester test are optional and will
be decided upon by the teacher. Dual enrollment and
AP semester test may be required.
